This site sets no cookies of its own. Advertising is supplied by Google, and Google and its partners may store cookies or read identifiers in your browser, but only depending on your consent.

Wobble Lab is run by one person in Switzerland. This page follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revDSG), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the ePrivacy Directive and Google's EU User Consent Policy for AdSense. Where the law requires consent, advertising cookies and identifiers are used only after you give it.
Cookies set by this site
None. The code of this site does not set any cookie. The simulations write one thing to your browser, your sound setting (below): the colour, name or slider values you choose live only in the page.
Three things are close to cookies, so you should know about them:
- Your sound setting. If you mute or unmute the squish sounds, your choice is kept in your browser's local storage (key
wobble_sound), so the blobs stay quiet next time. It never leaves your device. Clear this site's data to remove it. - A random visit ID. Every page except this one stores a random ID (key
wobble_sid) in your browser's session storage. It is not a cookie, it is not shared with advertisers, and it disappears when you close the tab. It lets the site link the pages you view during one visit in its own statistics. - A server-side visit record. When a page loads, your browser sends the page address, the referring site and that random ID to this site's own server, which runs on Cloudflare. The server also records your IP address, your browser's user-agent text and an approximate location (country and city) that Cloudflare derives from your IP address. This is used only to count visits and to see which pages and experiments are used.
Legal basis for these own statistics: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used. They are not used for advertising. You can object at any time (see Contact).
Cookies set by advertising
Advertising is supplied by Google (AdSense). Depending on your consent, Google and the advertising partners it works with may store or read:
- Cookies in your browser;
- Local storage, meaning data kept in your browser outside cookies;
- Device and browser identifiers, such as advertising identifiers and information derived from your IP address and browser settings.
These can sit on this site's domain or on Google's. The consent banner is also supplied by Google and stores a record of your choice in the same way.
They are used for:
- Ad selection: choosing which advertisement to show;
- Frequency capping: limiting how often you see the same advertisement;
- Measurement: counting impressions and clicks and reporting results;
- Fraud prevention and security: detecting invalid or abusive traffic.
No advertisements before consent. On pages that carry advertising, no advertisement is requested or shown until you have made a choice in the consent banner. If you refuse, Google does not store or read advertising cookies or identifiers for these purposes. Whether an advertisement is shown at all, and of which kind, is then decided by Google's rules.
Pages that carry advertising load a script from Google. Like any web server, Google then receives your IP address and browser details, because the banner itself comes from Google. This page carries no advertising and loads no Google script.
Measurement and personalization
With your consent, Google and its partners may also:
- measure advertising performance, meaning which advertisements were shown or clicked and how they did;
- produce audience reports from combined data;
- personalise advertising, meaning use your earlier activity, such as sites you visited, to choose advertisements;
- use the data to develop and improve their services.
The banner lets you decide by purpose, so you can accept some and refuse others.
Legal basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a), ePrivacy Directive art. 5(3) and, where applicable, revDSG). Consent is voluntary and the site works fully without it: the experiments and articles do not depend on it.
Your choices
- In the consent banner: accept, refuse, or use “Manage choices” to decide by purpose.
- Do nothing: without a choice, no advertisement is shown and no advertising identifier is stored.
- In your browser: block or delete cookies and site data at any time. The banner then asks again.
- In your Google account: control personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it. On any page that shows advertising, for example the Jelly experiment, open the consent banner's “Manage choices” and change your selection or refuse everything. Withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of processing done before you withdrew.
This page has no banner control because it carries no advertising.
Data controllers
Two parties are responsible, each for its own processing:
- The site operator, an individual based in Switzerland (hello@wobble-lab.com), for the site's own visit statistics and for messages sent to the contact address. Cloudflare delivers and hosts the site on the operator's behalf.
- Google, for the data it collects through its advertising services and consent banner. The responsible company is the one named in Google's privacy policy for your country; for visitors in the EEA and Switzerland this is generally Google Ireland Limited.
