Wobble Lab

Index

Experiments

Each one isolates a single property of soft matter and lets you push on it. Anything marked as planned genuinely does not exist yet; there is no page behind it.

Live

Jelly

A slab that keeps its volume and resists shear. Change its firmness and its internal damping and the wobble changes character.

In progress

Elastic ball

The same material with almost no damping, to show what a gel would look like if it lost no energy per bounce. No real gel behaves this way.

Planned

Hanging sheet

A gel with no enclosed volume. Remove the internal pressure and only the network's resistance to bending is left, which is a very different material.

Planned

Droplet and puddle

A liquid blob scaled across the capillary length, so you can watch a round shape give way to a flat one as it grows.

What they share

All of them run on the same solver, which enforces three things a real gel also enforces: volume is preserved, the network resists shear, and motion loses energy. Turning one experiment into another means changing the shape and the numbers, not the physics.
